(COLUMBUS, OH) – In an attempt to circumvent the overwhelming majority opinion of Ohioans, including both democrats and republicans, the ACLU today issued a threat of litigation against the state’s attempts to limit Obamacare and taxpayer funding of abortion through House Bill 79.

With over 60% of Ohioans casting votes to rebuke Obamacare, coupled with the fact that Obamacare allows for states to opt-out of abortion coverage in the state exchange, Ohio Right to Life believes this shallow attempt to protect Planned Parenthood and their abortion allies will fail.

“It appears as if the ACLU is burying its head in the sand.  Simply put, the new federal health care law allows states to opt-out of abortion coverage.  Perhaps they hope to get before a left wing activist judge, who would be sympathetic to any attempt to promote abortion,” said Mike Gonidakis, Executive Director for Ohio Right to Life.

Ohio Right to Life continues to stand behind House Bill 79 and is committed to protecting the rights of Ohio taxpayers who oppose abortion.
