Ohio Right to Life Announces Strategic Growth

Pro-Life Success Leads to Expansion

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Date: Thursday, December 29, 2011

(COLUMBUS) - Today, Marshal Pitchford, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Ohio Right to Life Society announced the organization's strategic restructuring which will enhance the state's largest and longest serving pro-life organization. Executive Director Mike Gonidakis has accepted the position of President of the Ohio Right to Life Society.

"Due to the historic success we realized in 2011 and the unexpected growth of Ohio Right to Life, we have determined that elevating Mike Gonidakis' position while engaging an additional pro-life advocate will best position our efforts to protect mothers and save the unborn," said Pitchford.

In this new strategic role, Mike Gonidakis will consult directly with the Board of Trustees by serving as Ohio's National Delegate at the National Right to Life Committee, representing the state's interests in Washington DC.  Further, he will advise the Ohio Right to Life Society Political Action Committee focusing on fundraising and grassroots advocacy.  Finally, Gonidakis will assist the current staff and lobby the Ohio General Assembly and executive branch to continue to enact common sense and responsible life saving laws.

"It is an honor and blessing to continue to advocate for life in this new capacity.  I look forward to working closely with the Board of Trustees to strengthen a culture of life in Ohio," said Gonidakis. "Electing a pro-life President, a United States Senator and protecting our pro-life incumbents is paramount to our ability to overturn Roe v. Wade."

The Ohio Right to Life Society also announced that it has begun the process of identifying a new executive director for the organization. The new executive director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Ohio Right to Life Society as well as the Ohio Right to Life Educational Fund. The executive director will also be responsible for strategic growth throughout Ohio by establishing new affiliated chapters and working closely with Ohio's pregnancy centers as well as managing current staff, the Statewide Advisory Council and establishing new pro-life initiatives.
