Planned Parenthood Put on Notice of Illegal Operations

Last Cincinnati Abortion Facility Could Be Shut Down

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Recently, Planned Parenthood's surgical abortion facility, the Elizabeth Campbell Surgical Center, was cited by the Ohio Department of Health for failure to obtain a transfer agreement, as required by an Ohio Right to Life legislative initiative signed into law last summer. This citation serves as a warning that the facility, which as of this summer is Cincinnati's last abortion clinic, could be shut down.

"With each passing month, we are seeing Ohio's abortion industry crumble because of their own inability to comply with the law," said Stephanie Ranade Krider, executive director of Ohio Right to Life. "Their failure to comply with basic health and safety regulations further demonstrates that Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion do not have women's best interests at heart."

After two facilities halted abortions this summer, eight abortion facilities remain in the state of Ohio. In late July, Planned Parenthood of Bedford Heights was fined $25,000 for health violations which included the improper storage of human tissue.

"Across the state, Planned Parenthood is outing itself as the phony health provider that it really is," said Krider. "Their continued violations of state law and basic common sense should serve as a warning sign to Ohio's women that this industry is looking to exploit them, their children, and their pocketbooks to stay in business."
