The following statement is in response to U.S. District Judge Michael Barrett's extension on his order to halt the de-funding of Planned Parenthood in Ohio. The temporary restraining order has been extended from June 6 to August 5. The statement should be attributed to Katie Franklin, director of communications for Ohio Right to Life.

"Despite the will of Ohio voters, an un-elected judge just halted our democratically enacted, constitutional law by another two months, endangering the conscience rights of pro-life taxpayers. The conscience rights of all Ohioans, including pro-life Ohioans, stand above the whims of any judge. Our conscience rights matter. By preventing the enactment of this legislation, the judge is sending the opposite signal to half of Ohio’s voters. Today's decision shows that even in a pro-life state with pro-life voters and pro-life leaders, Planned Parenthood wields might and influence over the laws that govern us."

Founded in 1967, Ohio Right to Life, with more than 45 chapters and local affiliates, is Ohio's oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement in Ohio, ORTL works through legislation and education to promote and defend innocent human life from conception to natural death.

First of all this not against the will of all Ohio voters. Second of all we have a constitutional right to an abortion if we so choose. The judge is protecting those legal rights which you seem to ignore. That is not the whim of a judge, that is law.

Just because you are pro-fetus does not mean you are pro-life. The leaders of this state has proven this time and time again.

When you start taking care of these babies and thier mothers to make sure they have a good start in life, not live in poverty, make sure our elderly and mentally ill are taken care then you will be pro-life.
    Until then you are hypocrites.
