COLUMBUS, Ohio-- Today, Ohio Right to Life called on former Ohio Governor John Kasich to rescind his support of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

The following statement may be attributed to Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life:

“While Governor of Ohio, John Kasich’s strong pro-life convictions enabled him to stand against the violence of abortion and work alongside Ohio Right to Life to strengthen protections for Ohio’s most vulnerable. As a man of faith, Kasich claims his policy was informed by what countless people of faith hold dear: that every human life is precious and that abortion is morally unacceptable. It is for this reason that Kasich’s support of Joe Biden is so deeply troubling.”

“Throughout his candidacy, Joe Biden has made his wholehearted endorsement of abortion abundantly clear. Supporting a candidate who believes abortion should be legal up to the point of birth flies in the face of faith and even human decency. You cannot faithfully stand for life and back Joe Biden. We call on John Kasich to rescind his support."

Founded in 1967, Ohio Right to Life, with more than 40 chapters and local affiliates, is Ohio's oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement in Ohio, ORTL works through legislation and education to promote and defend innocent human life from conception to natural death.

I came here wondering if I could get a pro-life sign for my yard. My neighbor surprised me by having one. I also saw one on a truck parked in front of a drug dealer’s home (both parents are prison now.) What the trouble is is that although President Trump is pro-life, he appears to be inconsistent with respect to relationships with people and perhaps, although it might be argued, narcissistic about relationships. Respect for all persons! Voters may be believe that a Catholic would have a better understanding of that. “Who count as persons?” written in 2001 by Fr. John Kavanaugh, S.J. made me think that having that kind of understanding would prevent a person from degrading others in their language. In effect, killing them. The problem is that abortion is acceptable and that is the reality although, we want to change reality. Perhaps Trump’s last four years will not be so self-serving on face, and, he blames the journalists. His daughter elicited many of his accomplishments. Why cannot anyone have prevented the children being separated at our southern border from their families, or, at least cared for if separation was a punishment? A consistent care for persons because they are persons, and the children and those who are weaker would be included. Trump seems to dislike weakness in others and that is what people are hearing and hating him for. We all assume that Biden, as a Catholic, would turn things the other way. I don’t think Biden wants babies killed in the womb, but, this Protection Act of Human LIfe should be law, whomever is president.

John Kasich is a disgrace to Ohio pro-life voters.

While we thank him for his support of pro-life laws supported by Ohio Right to Life, Kasich needs to get over his severe Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Kasich wasn’t the Republican nominee in 2016, he lost to Trump, so he should act like a man and not be such a sore (and, apparently, now a pro-abortion wrongs) loser.

I am really surprised and disappointed that John Kasich would sacrifice his Christian values and be a part of any organization that supports abortion. There are now basically zero democrats that are pro-life, and he knows that. His hatred for President Trump has distorted his moral compass. Really sorry to see this happen, as I thought he was a great Governor for the State of Ohio.
