COLUMBUS, Ohio–Today, Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein charged four pro-abortion protestors who invaded a local church service during a Remembrance Mass on January 22nd at St. Joseph’s Cathedral. The mass was being held to mourn the 62 million unborn children who have lost their lives to abortion since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion nationwide in 1973.

The four pro-abortion protestors have been charged with Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal Trespass and one has been additionally charged with Criminal Damaging.

The following statement may be attributed to Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life:

“Ohio Right to Life is relieved to see justice applied on behalf of those parishioners who were practicing their Catholic faith and remembering the loss of innocent unborn lives. Even our pro-choice city attorney recognizes that the rule of law must always apply and our churches are sacred institutions. Menacing others and yelling vulgarities at a church service at which young children were present is both unlawful and unconscionable. Trespassing, disruptive and harmful behavior has no place in our society especially inside a church. Such displays of irreverence towards women and children practicing their faith are tragic and uncalled for.”

“Faithful pro-lifers seek to grieve not only for the children whose lives have been gruesomely ended by abortion but also for the countless women who have been deeply hurt by it. Our hearts go out to everyone who was victimized by these protestors and we are pleased that our local law enforcement and prosecutor charged these protestors for their unlawful activity. Pro-Life Ohio remains committed to our peaceful and prayerful advocacy which is grounded in our love for the most vulnerable. Love, not hate, for each and every human life has the power to make our world a better place.”
