The following statement is in response to Planned Parenthood's lawsuit against the de-funding of abortion providers in Ohio. It should be attributed to Katie Franklin, director of communications for Ohio Right to Life.

"The State of Ohio has every right and reason to cut off state funding from entities that do not fit our state policy to prefer childbirth over abortion. Millions of times over, Planned Parenthood has proven that its mission is antithetical to this policy, and its work is destructive to human life. By Planned Parenthood’s own admission, state funding made up about 5-7 percent of their annual budget. The irony is that Planned Parenthood is now spilling money to retain state money in a frivolous lawsuit that is built on the absurd premise that they are short on money. Taxpayer money is better spent at life-affirming facilities that serve women and their children instead of a hyper-political corporation that is constantly mired in scandal."

Founded in 1967, Ohio Right to Life, with more than 45 chapters and local affiliates, is Ohio's oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement in Ohio, ORTL works through legislation and education to promote and defend innocent human life from conception to natural death.

Taxpayers money is not meant to fund non government agencies, when did planned parenthood become a government agency? I do not want to fund baby killers and that is what they are in a nutshell, these people who want to have unprotected sex and not want to be responsible for the outcome, own up to your responsibility if you don’t want to keep the baby there are thousands of adoptive parents waiting for a child who are unable to have children of there own, I don’t want to be paying for your screw ups to be discarded like trash if you want to not get pregnant try a condom, if he says there to small you might want to think the sex part over or get on the pill if you can’t remember to take your pill once a day get the depovera shot it’s good for 3 months quit making excuses and own up to your part of the encounter
