President Biden Signs Executive Order Rescinding The Mexico City Policy

On the eve of the 2021 March for Life, President Joe Biden signed an executive order ending The Mexico City Policy, a vital pro-life protection which bars the U.S. from funding abortion overseas. The Mexico City Policy was first introduced by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. Since its inception, The Mexico City Policy has been rescinded by every Democratic president and reinstated or continued by every Republican president.Ā

During his 2020 presidential campaign, Biden and his now-ViceĀ  President Kamala Harris ran on the most radically pro-abortion platform in our nationā€™s history. Biden promised to end The Mexico City Policy, repeal the pro-life Hyde Amendment and codify Roe v. Wade. Less than 10 days into his presidential term, President Biden has already begun implementing his pro-abortion campaign promises.Ā

Voting has life and death consequences for the innocent unborn and women in crisis. With the Mexico City Policy rescinded, the abortion industry can now more easily promote the ending of innocent human using federal tax dollars and expand their abortion business across the world. Although such losses on a federal level are heartbreaking to our movement, it is important for us to never lose heart. Our impact for life in our communities continues to propel the pro-life cause forward as we build a culture of life from the ground up. Changing hearts and mind about abortion and educating those around us on the inherent value of every life will remain our focus. In the end, the compassion and conviction of the pro-life movement will prevail.Ā

3 Ways You Can Stand for Life

The 2021 March for Life may be virtual this year, but there are still so many ways to make a real impact for the cause of life!

Ā Here are 3 easy ways you can get involved right now to help save lives!Ā

1. Learn about abortionĀ

For the pro-life movement, the truth is our greatest asset! Learn about what abortion actually entails and educate yourself on how to express your pro-life beliefs with compassion and conviction. Find out what abortion laws are like around the country and in your state.Ā

Check out pro-life organizations like Live Action and Equal Rights Institute for great resources on abortion and apologetics. You can also learn about Ohioā€™s abortion laws and what they mean for the unborn at ohiolife.org.Ā

2. Get to know your local pregnancy centerĀ

Pro-life Pregnancy Centers are the hands and feet of the pro-life movement! Whether volunteering your time or your resources, you can make an impact in your community for women in crisis and their babies.

You can find your local Pregnancy Center by going to optionline.org.

3. Join a pro-life group in your area!Ā

Getting connected with local pro-life champions is a great way to impact your community for life! There are over 40 Ohio Right to Life chapters and affiliates across Ohio and all are committed to ending abortion and saving lives in their communities!Ā

You can find your local Right to Life chapter at ohiolife.org.

However you decide to get involved, know that the part you play in the pro-life movement will save lives and help build the culture of life in our state. Together, we will end abortion in Ohio!Ā

Founded in 1967, Ohio Right to Life, with more than 40 chapters and local affiliates, is Ohio’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization.
